Jewellery Studio and Bike Storage

It’s always exciting when a new lead comes through for a garden room in Bristol, seeing the ways these beautiful spaces are being used and adapted to suit our growing array for clientele. So it was a real delight when we found out this garden room would be utilised for a purpose completely different to that of our previous customers.

 

Nestled in a nook of the garden, we set to work building our client her dream jewellery studio where she could design, create and host from. The design requirements, featuring stained Cedar cladding and ply-lined walls, perfectly incorporated the space within a garden that truly felt like a tranquil oasis away from the bustling streets of Bristol.

Whilst the main focus was centred around the studio, there was also a similarly invested interest in a bike storage area, that could house their growing collection of bikes and outdoor activity equipment. It was noted, however, that this space couldn’t impact the design and size of the studio and as such, a room was built in which the bikes were interestingly stored in vertical positions, making use of all possible space.

 

The choice of sliding aluminium doors (2.4m) instead of bifolds, also enabled maximum usage of the room so her partner could also enjoy the benefits of the working from home space. Whilst the doors provided a great source of natural light, our clients were eager to incorporate a few more light sources (a rooflight and small opening window) to maximise the light potential without the glare of direct sunlight on their work stations.

 

Once our work was complete, it was great to come back to the garden room and see how our clients had inhabited it, making it a truly inviting and special place to be.
