Conker Construction
Office and Garden Music Studio
With the imminent arrival of a baby, it was imperative for our client that he had a dedicated space to work from home and continue practising his guitar (in peace!).
With each room in the house being commandeered for various purposes, a garden office music studio became the answer.
Assessing the available area we could see that removing the pre-existing decking and path structure meant we had a dedicated vicinity in which to build the garden room studio.
With fencing structures surrounding the garden room, it was important to design the space to incorporate as much natural light as possible, whilst still having privacy from surrounding neighbours. To do this, glazing was incorporated on the two exposed sides of the garden room with double French doors and a window.
The Shou Sugi Ban technique was used on the Cedar cladding to preserve it from insects and moisture, whilst also providing a sleek finish to the garden room. This approach gave definition to the interesting and varied grain of the wood.
A very enjoyable Bristol garden room design and build.
